“Workers of the war unite” is an appropriation of the painting “Des Glaneuses” painted by Jean-François Millet in 1857, which magnifies the 19th century rural proletariat.
Hassan Musa was born in Sudan in 1951 and studied at Khartoum’s Art College. Today, he lives and works in France. His paintings are exposed everywhere in the world; several of them were part of the exhibition “Africa Remix”, presented in Düsseldorf, London, Paris, Tokyo and Johannesburg between 2005 and 2007. Hassan Musa is also an illustrator, a writer and an art critic.
