Patrick Ropert



Patrick Ropert joined Tilder to work with executives and their management teams on the solidity of their strategy, the impact of their actions and the construction of a positive influence ecosystem in the service of their business.

During a five-year stint as Managing Director of SNCF Gares & Connexions, Patrick Ropert fine-tuned his skills in business and real estate, digital transformation and crisis management. He is the author of City Booster – The station at the dawn of a revolution, published in October 2017.

He chaired the Board of Directors of AREP, France’s biggest architecture and urban planning firm, which has a marked presence on international markets.

Patrick Ropert was also President of Orient Express until December 2016.

Patrick Ropert was Chief of Staff to Louis Gallois, Chairman of the SNCF, and then the SNCF group’s Communication Director under Guillaume Pepy. In the UK, he oversaw the installation of a new high-speed train service between London and Kent.

An engineer by training, he began his career in the construction of nuclear submarines in the shipbuilding division of the French Ministry of Defence.

Patrick Ropert has been supporting digital innovation in France for more than 10 years. He accompanied the creation of Le Camping Startup Innovator, which has now become NUMA, and has nurtured many young entrepreneurs.

A contemporary art lover, he has developed an Art in Stations programme to promote the display of artworks and exhibitions in railway stations. He has established numerous collaborations with major French cultural institutions.

Married and the father of two children, he is an Officer of the National Order of Merit.
